Recent Feedback & Clearing Up Confusion
It's been truly encouraging to read all the feedback we've gotten this past month. The views on our blog have been pouring in from all kinds of different sites; whether it's from a Megaman fan site, or just an in-general game site. However, there seems to be some confusion on how Eclipse will be distributed to several platforms.
Megaman X: Eclipse will be primarily available on Windows and Android. It will not be on a marketplace and it will be completely free. Our announced list of platforms were: Windows, Windows 8, Mac, HTML5, Android, OUYA and Steam (which was recently added). I'll explain the situation of each.
I hadn't looked much into Windows 8 before we announced it but I believed that you could install non-marketplace apps to Windows 8. After doing some quick research it appears that you can, although I have no idea how convenient or inconvenient it may be. One of our team members just recently got a Windows 8 computer and has tested the regular Windows application with no issues at all. So as of right now, we won't spend time making a Windows 8 app since it can just run the regular Windows application.
If we want to put Eclipse on Mac, it requires us to have an Apple Developer license. With the list of platforms we have already we don't see the demand for a Mac version being that high. As far as I know HTML5 runs fine on Mac so you'll still be able to play it.
Now time to explain the Android support. Once OUYA was announced, we leapt at the first opportunity to start the development for Android. But now there are many other Android based consoles with each their own gimmick. As we said earlier, Eclipse will not be available on the marketplace. We will provide the download link for you to install it to any Android device that allows it. I've read that the OUYA will allow you to do that and Android smartphones should have an option in the settings for it.
As soon as I heard of the speculation for the Steambox I knew I had to get Eclipse on Steam. If you haven't used Steam before, it's basically a huge marketplace that you can buy and play video games through its interface. It has an awesome feature that allows you to add non-Steam games to your library. I've tested Eclipse with it and it works beautifully (shift+tab menu, and also on Big Picture); so it's for sure a go with Steam on PC. Steambox has yet to actually be revealed, so let's hope it'll allow importing non-Steam games as well.
Hopefully that cleared up some of the confusion! Again, Megaman X: Eclipse will not be on a marketplace, it'll be free, and all the download links will be provided by us.
aaand why not add a few screenshots.

Neon Tiger Remake Video
The video of the Neon Tiger level has been uploaded!
As stated before; this is to show you guys our engine and its realism to the SNES series. We took the map from VG maps, put in some enemies and that's how it ended up. Unfortunately, YouTube cut the video from 60 FPS to 30 FPS so it's only half as smooth as it should be. Scorch Raptor's level is next on the list for videos, and then the demo! Happy New Years!

Demo Update & Neon Tiger Remake
Since we aren't quite finished with the demo yet, I decided to re-create Neon Tiger's level with our engine to show it's realism compared to MMX3. This hasn't slowed down our overall progress, in fact it only took 10 minutes to make. The video will be uploaded hopefully by the week of the New Year given how my work schedule plans out.
A few plans have changed with the demo as well. We originally decided to just release it for Windows, however it'd be really nice to get feedback on how it runs on separate Android OS's as well. So we're going to work on releasing the Windows version as planned and then we will work on optimizing and porting it to Android afterwards. We'll most likely include the Neon Tiger remake as well.

Scorch Raptor Sprite
We are showing the stance sprite of Scorch Raptor. His original design was by BarylTDF of deviantart and we modified it to what it is now. We ended up with 2 slightly different ones so we're going to need you guys' opinion to help us decide! As we said before, we need somebody to animate him for us. If you are interested, email us at megamanprojecteclipse@gmail.com and we can talk about what we need his attacks to be.

System Requirements & Windows 8
We tried out Megaman X: Eclipse on a notebook with 1 GB ram and 1.6 GHz single core processor and it ran at 59 FPS. The cap is 60 FPS. What this means is that Eclipse is very computer friendly and you won't need a gaming computer to run it. That's the weakest computer we have tried it on and since it ran at near-fullspeed, I would say that those specs are the minimum for a full 60 FPS. We'll do some further testing later on.
You wouldn't expect a game like Megaman X to not be computer friendly; but sometimes the coding language and how it's coded by the developer can become very computer demanding, even if the game is simple. Fortunately this is a sign that my coding has been efficient speed-wise.
GameMaker Studio also just got support for Windows 8, so we'll see how that goes once Windows 8 is released.

Details on Playable Demo
Just wanted to post some details about the playable demo:
There are some other details being worked out, but those are the main ones I wanted to announce.
- You will be able to play Scorch Raptor's level
- You will be able to dash, air-dash and up-dash even though you won't have the leg upgrade. (Doesn't mean that's what the leg upgrade is)
- We hope to have Scorch Raptor animated for a boss battle, but we still need someone to animate him.
- There is no set release date for the demo but we're very close to being able to release it. The main thing we're holding out for is animations for Scorch Raptor.
- The demo will only be available for Windows
